Commonhour vs. Rallly: free scheduling, without the finalize step behind a paywall

Rallly's free tier is genuinely generous for creating and sharing a poll. The catch is what happens next — actually locking in a time and getting it onto people's calendars.

The short version

Rallly's free "Hobby" tier lets you create a poll, share it, and collect responses at no cost. But finalizing a time and generating the calendar invite — the step that actually turns a poll into a scheduled meeting — requires Rallly Pro (around $56/yr). Free polls also auto-delete once inactive rather than being kept indefinitely, which needs Pro as well.

Commonhour keeps every part of that flow free, on every tier: creating a plan, sharing it, collecting responses, and generating the calendar invite (Google Calendar, Outlook, or .ics) once a time is picked.

Where Rallly holds up well

If you just need a quick, one-off poll and don't need to generate a calendar invite or keep the poll around afterward, Rallly's free Hobby tier covers that fine. Its team "Spaces" seat pricing may also make sense if your organization is already paying for shared workspace tooling and wants scheduling folded into the same bill.

Questions about switching from Rallly

Can I finalize a Rallly poll's time in Commonhour instead?

Not directly — Commonhour doesn't import polls from other tools. You'd recreate the same candidate dates as a new Commonhour plan and share the new link with your group.

Does Commonhour have a paid tier too?

Not currently. There's no paid tier live today — creating plans, joining them, and generating calendar invites are all free.
