Terms of Service

Effective date: to be set when this goes live

The short version: Commonhour helps a group find a time that works. Use it honestly, only email people who would expect to hear from you, and keep your account details accurate. Paid features are billed monthly through Stripe and you can cancel any time. We never delete a plan because of a limit, and we try to be straightforward when something changes.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CommonHour ("Commonhour", "we", "us"), 3130 Grants Lake Blvd #16232, Sugar Land, TX 77496. By using commonhour.io (the "Service"), whether or not you have an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old (or older where the law of your country requires) to use the Service. If you use it for an organization, you confirm you may accept these Terms for that organization.

2. What Commonhour does

Commonhour lets you create a plan, collect everyone's availability through a share link or email invitations, see when the group is free, and generate a calendar invite for the time you pick. Some features need a free account, and some need a paid Organizer subscription. What each option includes is described in the app and may change over time.

3. Your account

4. Plans, limits and fair use

Each type of account has limits, such as how many people can respond to a plan, how many people you can invite by email, how many plans can be open at once, and how many invitation-email plans you can send each month. The current limits are shown in the app. We may change limits for plans created after the change, and we will not remove responses or delete a plan because of a limit. Plans delete themselves on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.

Paid plans are for normal scheduling use. We may slow, pause or limit an account whose use is clearly abusive or puts our email delivery or other users at risk, and we will tell you why when we can.

5. Invitations and emails

When you invite people by email, Commonhour sends the message on your behalf. You are responsible for who you invite. Only invite people who you reasonably expect would want to hear about your plan, and follow the anti-spam and marketing laws that apply to you (for example, the CAN-SPAM Act). Do not use Commonhour to send advertising, chain messages or anything unrelated to scheduling.

People can opt out of future emails, and we will respect that, which may mean an address cannot be emailed from your plan. Emails that bounce or are reported as unwanted may count against your account's ability to send.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you put into Commonhour, such as plan names, locations and the names and email addresses you enter. You give us permission to store, process and display that content, and to email it to the people you choose, only as needed to run the Service for you. You confirm you have the right to share it, including other people's email addresses for the purpose of inviting them.

7. Acceptable use

Do not:

8. Calendar connection

Connecting a calendar is optional and is part of Organizer. If you connect a Google calendar, Commonhour only reads when you are busy or free, to pre-fill your availability, and never creates, changes or deletes anything on your calendar. Section 4 of the Privacy Policy explains what we access and how to disconnect. You can disconnect at any time from your Profile page or from your Google Account.

9. Paid features and billing

10. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel an Organizer subscription at any time from the billing portal linked on your Profile page. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep Organizer features until the end of the period you have paid for. After that, your account returns to the free plan: nothing is deleted, existing responses stay, and the free plan's limits apply to anything new. Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.

11. Other services

Commonhour works with services we do not control, such as Google Calendar, Outlook, Stripe and your email provider. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their availability or changes.

12. Changes to the Service

We keep improving Commonhour and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you are using in a way that materially reduces what you paid for, we will tell you and offer a prorated refund for the unused part of your current period.

13. Disclaimers

Commonhour is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it reliable, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, that emails will always arrive, or that a time chosen through Commonhour will suit everyone. You are responsible for confirming meetings and appointments that matter. Some places do not allow certain disclaimers, and in those places they apply only as far as the law permits.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Commonhour is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost meetings or lost data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Ending your use

You can stop using Commonhour at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account at [email protected]. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these Terms or puts others at risk. If we end a paid account for a reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused part of your current period.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at [email protected] and we will try to fix it. Any dispute we cannot resolve that way will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and Commonhour consent to those courts. Your local consumer-protection rights, where they apply, are not affected.

17. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a way that matters, we will update the effective date above and, for paying customers, email you before the change applies. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
